“我经历过一段很痛苦的时光，后来我发现，如果不把自己的生命寄托在一个伟大事业上，我变成一棵草、一根竹子的时候，我打开自己就可以探索这个世界。”中国艺术家萧昱饱含深思的新作品《念力》正在红专厂月台呈现。

这三件作品是艺术家雕塑创作的延续，也是对其内在精神世界的探索。

从2011年开始，萧昱的雕塑中开始出现了竹子。萧昱的创作试图超越竹子的形态限制，造出其本不可达的姿态，以此既具有了竹子的视觉特征，又令人想到中国书法酣畅淋漓的线条。

他相信，艺术应该保持批判，并且能够超越物质、时间和历史。

"I once went through a very painful time. Then I find out that if I do not repose my life on a great career and when I become a blade of grass or a bamboo, I can explore the world by unfolding myself." Chinese artist Xiao Yu's new work Psychokinesis, brimful of profound thoughts, is now on exhibit at the Redtory.

These three artworks serve as the continuation of Xiao's sculptures, and the exploration of his inner world.

Bamboos have featured in Xiao's work since 2011. He goes beyond the actual forms of bamboos and creates new, fictive forms for them - such an approach retains the visual features of bamboos and evokes associations with strokes of traditional Chinese calligraphy.

Art, he believes, is supposed to be critical and transcend substances, time and history.
